Josephs work is a fast paced unremitting exploration of process and time. He creates visually oversaturated abstract compositions influenced by our over stimulated contemporary culture. Using an arsenal of images from everyday life that range from colorful cartoon images to realistic objects, he creates work that is appealing to every type of person, from young children to old geezers, from art-enthusiasts to gas station attendants. His approach to creating work is reminiscent of his influences of street art. This street art inspiration can be seen not only by his use of bold black lines but also in the immediacy and the entropic nature of his work. Using colors as vibrant as a Crayola box and characters as bold as a brass covered lion, he creates what we, in the art world, call fun artwork.
